Cleveland Ironstone Systems - Great Ayton - Extract from TE Rounthwaite 1962.

Joan Hackworth Weir, although born in Thornaby on Tees and living later in Bury St. Edmunds with her husband, lived the latter part of her life in Great Ayton, North Yorkshire.  She had been a longstanding Cleveland  County librarian, based both in Thornaby and Middlesbrough under Frank Jenkins. She had a huge interest in many things, local history, ancient and modern Archeology and much more.

This page from TE Rounthwaite's Cleveland Ironstone Systems - Great Ayton - Ironstone 1962, which describes in part the Whinstone railway and NER wagons, was found in her collection.
